Hodge Industries works alongside builders, architects, and homeowners on new builds, renovations, and upgrades to homes that are already finished. We design and specify whole-home audio, automation, networking, security, and lighting, and source the custom doors and specialty materials that finish the space.
Experience on custom homes designed with award-recognized architects.
From early design through commissioning and handoff.
The same team specifying your systems can source the doors that finish the room.
We consult across the full AV and smart home technology scope, and source the custom doors and specialty materials that round out a build, coordinating with your architect and licensed trades throughout, and finding the right minimally invasive approach when the home is already finished.

Beyond doors, we help source hardware, trim, and specialty materials that need to land on-site at the right point in the build sequence.
Most AV problems on a build aren't technology problems. They're sequencing problems. By the time a system is chosen after drywall, options are limited and costs go up. Bringing in AV consulting alongside your architect means the right conduit, power, and structure exist before they're needed. For homes that are already finished, we bring that same systems thinking to work within existing walls instead.
We review plans early and flag infrastructure needs before permitting, so nothing gets value-engineered out by accident.
A single consultant coordinating audio, network, security, and lighting scope means fewer gaps between trades.
We understand construction sequencing and site logistics, so recommendations fit the build, not just the spec sheet.
Designed for serviceability and future upgrades, so today's build doesn't become tomorrow's renovation.
We review the plans or site, understand how the home or property will be used, and align on priorities and budget.
A complete AV and technology systems plan and equipment specification, coordinated with your architect and licensed electrician.
On-site involvement through rough-in and trim to keep installation aligned with the design as the build progresses.
Systems tested, programmed, and explained clearly, so the finished home works the way it was designed to.

Hodge Industries has built its name on architect-led custom builds and renovations, and AV and smart home consulting is where most of that work lives today. But almost every project has involved more than wiring and equipment, from custom doors to other specialty materials we've sourced and installed alongside the technology systems. That hands-on view of the full build, not just the AV scope, is what gives us a builder's-eye read on where technology planning typically goes wrong, and how early, coordinated consulting fixes it.
Today that experience shapes how we work with builders, architects, and homeowners: practical, coordinated with the rest of the trades, and just as comfortable sourcing a door or material for the project as we are specifying the systems behind the walls. Both are built to hold up long after the final walkthrough.
It helps to bring us in as early as possible, ideally alongside your architect, but we regularly join projects that are already under construction or fully built. Earlier just means more options and less rework.
We consult and specify: designing the system, choosing equipment, and coordinating the plan. Installation is carried out by your licensed electrician and integrators, with us involved to keep it aligned with the design.
That's exactly what our retrofit and existing-home upgrade work covers. We find wireless and minimally invasive ways to deliver the same systems without opening up walls unnecessarily.
It depends on the size of the home and how many systems are involved. Share your project details through the form below and we'll follow up with a straightforward estimate.
We're based in Charlotte, NC, and take on projects throughout the surrounding region.
The earlier AV consulting joins the project, the more it saves in cost, rework, and headaches later. Tell us about the project and we'll follow up.
